INTERESTING ECHO OF THE MONTH
Case History
A 56 year female patient was referred for trans esophageal echo with history of recent stroke. MRA did not reveal any carotid artery disease. ECG revealed sinus rhythm.
What is the Diagnosis??
Ulcerated atheroma plaque in the ascending aorta at the origin of the right innominate artery. ? Small mobile thrombus, ? atheroma attached to this plaque.
The ME 0 degree and ME 90 degree view shows there is a large ulcerated atheroma plaque in the distal ascending aorta at the mouth of the innominate artery. There is small mobile mass attached to it - ? small thrombus, ? mobile atheroma. Plaque thickness = 06 mms
